Review: Sriracha….I’m used to seeing this name on the plastic bottles of chilli sauce goodness that I normally find at my local Asian grocer. For this instance it has been added as part of this ketchup from Culley’s in the land of the long white cloud. This is a beautifully made chilli ketchup that has a very good consistency and nice flavour balance. The addition of the sriracha brings a nice level of heat that elevates this ketchup into a spicier territory then it would normally sit. The heat is subtle and brings a nice warmth. It complements the sweetness of the ketchup. Whilst it’s not a heat that you would rate as excessively hot, it’s a lingering warmth that is long there after you have consumed the sauce. On my heat scale it’s a 4 out of 10.
Verdict: Culley’s Sriracha Ketchup No 4 is an excellent ketchup sauce which falls into that category of an all rounder sauce. It can be added to pretty much anything and it will taste great. It has a nice level of heat and a great balance of flavours. A phenomenal ketchup sauce that has its own unique identity and is absolutely flawless, my final score is a Perfect 10 out of 10.
