Review: This Disaster Bay spicy kasoundi Indian chilli chutney offering from Disaster Bay is there take on a traditional Indian chutney which primarily contains tomatoes, mustard and garlic. It has a thickish consistency which is expected amongst chutneys and a really nice depth of flavour. The 3 different varieties of chillies is a nice variation and in concert with the mustard seeds they bring lovely warmth to this dish. I say warmth as it’s not a overly hot chutney. On my heat scale it’s a 3 out of 10.
Verdict: Disaster Bay Spicy Kasoundi Indian Chutney is a very nicely made chilli chutney that has some nice flavours, fresh ingredients and a really nice level of spice. It’s has some authenticity to its flavour that can be quite difficult to achieve but Disaster Bay has done a very good job. It might not be as spicy as the origin but it doesn’t need to be. This chutney will go well in your favourite sandwiches, wraps or even as a appetiser served with some fresh crusty bread or crackers. My final score is a 8 out of 10.
