Review: From the land of the long white cloud comes this chilli plum sauce. Chilli often works well with fruits that have a slight tartness to them go with their sweet characteristics. The plum component of this sauce is no exception and it goes really well with the chilli. It’s a sauce that revels in its simplicity. It’s not overloaded with many ingredients which allows the plum and chilli to shine. On my heat scale it’s a 3 out of 10.
Verdict: Orcona Chilli Plum Sauce is a well made mild chilli sauce that falls into that sweet with heat category. This sauce is an alternative to your traditional sweet chilli sauces and is extremely well made. The flavours combine well and sauce is well balanced. This sauce would work well as a dipping alternative for Asian cuisine entrée items or with your favourite pork dish. My final score is a 9 out of 10.
