Review: An interesting combination of ingredients that come together to form this spicy bbq sauce and they work quite well together. This sauce was a former winner in the 2016 Mr Chilli Awards and achieved 2nd place in the 2017 competition. The sauce itself has a nice level of spice but not a lot of smoke. It’s sweetness comes from the mango and dates but the spice takes over lingering on the palette well after the initial sweetness goes. The sauce is of a thicker consistency, almost like a chutney sort of thickness, so spoon it out of the jar or dive right in head first if you like. On my heat scale it’s a 5 out of 10.

Verdict: Sublime Spices Smokey BBQ is a well made bbq sauce that would satisfy any chilli fan. Whilst the smoky flavours are quite mild the sauce combines a lot of fine ingredients to create a delicious sauce that would work on many different levels. It’s a flexible sauce that can be used as either a marinade or a condiment for your favourite barbecued meats. My final score is 8 out of 10.
