Review: Mustard sauces I must admit I only consider for particular types of foods and in general I’m not a massive fan of. However Heavenly Hot Sauces take on the Mustard Sauce has changed my thinking when it comes to hot sauce. Apart from saying “wow” a lot where do I start with this sauce. It’s a mustard sauce that falls somewhere in between the category of hot and extra hot. It’s a subtle, slow burn of a heat which really warms up nicely and gets progressive stronger the more you eat. The addition of rosemary adds a lovely flavour and the apple cider brings some extra tartness to the sauce. Jalapeno adds to the heat and the base spices bring nice balance to the overall flavour profile. On my heat scale it’s a 7 out of 10.

Verdict: Heavenly Hot Sauces Capones Columbian Gold is a tangy mustard sauce that needs to be locked away in a dark cave, protected by villagers and booby traps for only the most deserving Indiana Jones or Lara Croft to discover. A real treasure of a sauce that should be rewarded to first place getters at the Olympics. Its gold by name and gold by nature, in my humble opinion it’s worth its weight in gold. This condiment is essential for any barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and wraps. This is the greatest mustard sauce I have ever tried and I’ve tried a fair few of them. I simply can’t fault this sauce, it’s gets a perfect final score of 10 out of 10.
