Review: Tasting this sauce confirmed that I am a sucker for smoky sauces. This fantastic sauce from the Chilli Factory is no exception. The smoky tomato and chilli flavours blended beautifully with pork chop and spinach a vegetable noodles; it is no wonder that it achieved first place in the Chilli Tomato Category in 2017’s Mr Chilli Awards. The flavour did not overpower the essence of my meal but very much complimented it and essentially enhanced it. This is exactly what a good sauce does.

The balsamic vinegar provides this sauce with the ability to cut through, making its presence known. The consistency is delightful, as it doesn’t get clogged in the neck only for it to smother the plate after a good bang. Nor is it too runny, where it has to be sopped up with mashed potato. The sauce stays in place and allows for sufficient coverage.

I particularly enjoyed the herbs that were present. Evidently, I am a sucker for thyme, so I was satisfied.

Flavour wise, I rate this sauce an 8/10. For heat I disagree with the advertised 9/10 and would give it a 7/10. It didn’t turn my face into a crying tomato but gave my mouth a nice warm glow. Very enjoyable.
