Review: Whenever I see the combination of a citrus fruit and salt I think back to the glory days of knocking back tequila slammers in record time. Whilst now at my age that combination usually flavours my salads or meats. This particular rock salt has the lime and the habenero chilli blended in. Lime when proportioned correctly can be a perfect partner to chilli and this salt is no exception. The habenero brings a good level of heat to the salt. On my heat scale it’s a 5 out of 10.
Verdict: A delicious chilli salt that combines the classic South American flavours of lime and habenero chill. Whilst for my tasting I tried it on chicken this salt can be used on a wide variety of applications and farm proteins(beef, chicken, pork or lamb). I think it will work just as well if not better on seafood and I’m eager to try this on some baby Octopus over the charcoal barbecue. My final score for this salt is 9 out of 10.
