Review: Firstly this is the first time I have tried an India Pale Ale beer that has chilli as an ingredient component. This chilli beer is name after the 3Ds album of the same name and after drinking it I’m sure the 3Ds will be quite chuffed that they have inspired the Yeastie Boys. Its got some smokey flavours and the heat is added by some Peach Bhut and Fatalii chilli. The heat is quite mild so it’s not a spicy beer and I’m not sure more spice would work in this form of application. It’s a very nice pale ale. On my heat scale it’s a 1 out of 10.
Verdict: Yeastie Boys Hellzapoppin Hot Smoked IPA is a nice pale ale that has some intriguing flavours that you wouldn’t expect in a beer. It’s made well and has some nice balance. The Manuka smoked malt adds the beer and makes the overall product a unique drinking experience. My final score is a 8 out of 10.
