Review: From the multi award winning Seanne Heslop (Queen of Sauce founder), comes yet another seasoning: Sublime Seasoning. This salt has a lovely yellow colour to it, which reminded me of turmeric; I was shocked to see that it wasn’t a main ingredient, but quite possibly in the mentioned ‘spices’. All of the ingredients have been blitzed down to a very fine consistency. This was good because I didn’t have large chunks of salt to bite through or get caught in my teeth. The salt and subtle flavours of the spices can go through the meal more easily.
When I first added the salt to my meal, I must have been a bit lean and couldn’t really taste much, beside the salt. So I added a fair bit more and found that the flavours revealed themselves more prominently. Thankfully, I didn’t feel like I had overdosed on salt, breaking out in sweat to excrete the surplus through my pores.
This is a delicate seasoning and not something that will dominate the meal. Like most salt based seasonings, it should be used on something that is naturally flavoured and not already seasoned because a true indication of its flavour cannot be experienced.
Something that I did enjoy with this seasoning is that the onion and garlic flavours seemed to linger after my meal and although my peers may not have enjoyed my presence thereafter, I certainly savoured the long lasting fragrant flavour!
For flavour, I give the seasoning an 8/10 and the heat is negligible.
