Review: Although totally subjective, anything with a smoky flavour and is eaten (not inhaled) is going to be a winner. The smoky aroma that emanates from this bottle immediately encourages the salivary glands to begin pumping. The smell is strong, which is usually an accurate indicator of a tasty sauce that will not become diluted in a meal.

I must admit that I am also a huge fan of chipotle products so this sauce was going to be a winner anyway…

This sauce complimented everything I added it to including steak, chicken parmigiana, pork chops, spag bog, fettuccini and even carbonara. Each time, this sauce shone and stood out. It didn’t overpower the flavour of the meal but I knew it was present, which is ultimately why I add sauce to my dishes.

I’m not 100% sure of why it is named ‘Fight Sauce’. The heat didn’t really register with me in the way that I assume the title intends. Perhaps Danny is relating the sauce with the Balboa name whereby is the films, Rocky was always triumphant in the end? This sauce is definitely a winner for flavour. Heat wise, I wasn’t reaching for anything to douse flames; there was simply a mild chipotle warmth, which makes this sauce a definite contender for those looking for a chilli sauce without regretting it 5 minutes later or the morning after.

There is no doubt about it. Danny Balboa has produced an awesome sauce worthy of improving the experience of any dish. For flavour, I’ll give this sauce a solid 9/10 and for heat, it gets a 3/10.
