Review: Beef Jerky as a snack food is starting to gain some real traction in the Land Downunder (and its about bloody time if you ask me J).This jerky has some really lovely flavours. The chilli is visible in the form of dry chilli flakes. The steak has been dried well and the portion sizes are varied in size, which I don’t mind. There is a subtle sweetness there as well which takes a bit of the fire out of the chilli. As working out your chindominals is synonymous with every session of eating jerky this beef jerky is no exception but it does break down with a reasonable amount of effort. On my heat scale it’s a 4 out of 10.
Verdict: D. Jays Superior Quality Gourmet Chilli Jerky is a mild spiced and well made jerky. The steak has been dried well and treated with respect in the manufacturing process. The chilli is visible and evenly proportioned over the unevenly shaped jerky pieces. My final score is a 8.5 out of 10
