Location of Manufacture: Macleay Valley NSW
Ingredients: Honey, chilli
Review: The flaming skull…much like Marvels Ghostrider should tell you from the bat that this isn’t your grandma’s honey, nor is it typical of those jars of golden sweetness you find at your local supermarket. The little busy bees that worked their little stingers off to make this honey probably weren’t expecting it to be combined with the kind of heat that the Flaming Good Chilli company added to it. It’s a heat that doesn’t quite hit you straight away with this honey but when it does it rains hellfire! Very hot but it’s an extreme heat honey so it definitely delivers on the label. Interestingly the chilli isn’t visible in the honey like you see with some other chilli honeys so kudos to the makers. On my heat scale it’s a 8.5 out of 10.
Verdict: Flaming Good Chilli Honey Extreme Heat lives up to its name by delivering a delicious honey that has a great level of chilli. It’s spicy and sweet with the chilli kind of sneaking up on you before slapping you. Would work nicely on ice cream or on your favourite bread. My final score is a 9 out of 10.
