CUBAN-STYLE PICADILLO
Ingredients
1 tbls Olive oil
1 clove Garlic, crushed
100gm Onion, chopped
1/2 green Capsicum, chopped
500gm lean minced Beef
6 large pitted green Olives, quartered
1/2 cup Raisins
1 tbls capers
440 ml Tomato passatta
1 tbls gnd Cumin
1 tsp white Sugar
Pinch salt to taste
Method
- Heat Olive oil in a pan over medium heat; cook and stir Garlic, Onion, and green Capsicum in the hot oil until softened, 5 to 7 mins.
- Crumble mince into the pan, cook and stir until browned completely, 7 to 10 mins.
- Stir Olives, Raisins, Capers, Tomato passatta, Cumin, Sugar, and Salt through the mince beef mixture.
- Cover the pan, reduce heat to low, and cook until the mixture is heated through, 5 to 10 minutes.
